The League of Credit Unions & Affiliates (The League) is looking to hire a full-time Senior Director of Governmental Affairs in Georgia for the Advocacy Team. The role requires an experienced professional with a strong track record of managing complex projects, the ability to analyze and interpret legislation to assess its impact on credit unions, and the capacity to juggle multiple priorities under tight deadlines. Strong written, verbal, and public speaking skills are essential, especially the ability to communicate complex ideas clearly and persuasively. The League provides a platform for advocacy, collaboration, and innovation, representing 378 credit unions in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, and Virginia and their 33.3 million members, as well as $465.6 billion in assets. The League serves as an advocate through credit union engagement, advocacy impact, Foundation resources, and LEVERAGE products and services. Responsibilities

Lead The League's advocacy efforts in Georgia and represent the organization in political and legislative matters. dedicate approximately 70% of time to direct lobbying and 30% to PAC management, grassroots initiatives, and election-related activities. Develop and execute a proactive state legislative and regulatory agenda to support Georgia’s credit unions. Serve as the primary advocate for The League in the Georgia General Assembly, promote legislative priorities, and monitor developments affecting the credit union industry. Build and maintain relationships with key legislators, state agencies, government officials, and advocacy partners; represent credit unions at legislative hearings, stakeholder meetings, and public events. Organize grassroots lobbying efforts by engaging member credit unions in advocacy campaigns and events. Coordinate PAC activities, including donor outreach and fundraising initiatives. Prepare reports, policy briefs, position statements, and testimony to support legislative and regulatory efforts. Partner with the Chief Advocacy Officer and serve as a liaison to the Georgia Advocacy Committee; collaborate with internal teams across political, regulatory, grassroots, and compliance functions. Operate with a high degree of independence, political insight, and a deep commitment to advancing the credit union movement in Georgia. Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in political science, public relations, or a related field (required). Minimum of five years of experience with the state legislative process (as a staff member for an elected official or in a governmental affairs role with a trade association or lobbying firm). Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). Work Schedule

Travel frequently throughout Georgia and occasionally to Alabama, Florida, and Virginia by car; periodic airline travel. A valid driver’s license is required. You can expect to work Monday through Friday, with occasional nights and weekend engagements. Application Process
