Kairos Academies
Kairos Academies is seeking a hardworking, culture-building, student-focused, data-driven high school History Teacher able to teach Civics, AP Modern World History, AP Human Geography, Geography, or our in-house History curriculum. At Kairos, all teachers are leaders—you’ll deliver project-based social studies instruction and serve in a whole-school service role (e.g., Civic Engagement Lead, Equity Lead) that fosters critical thinking and civic responsibility.
Key Responsibilities
Adapt and implement standards-aligned units in Civics and global/regional history Design inquiry projects, document-based questions (DBQs), Socratic seminars, and performance tasks Analyze EOC, NWEA, MAP, and internal assessments to inform instruction Provide in person daily, actionable feedback on historical analysis and argumentation Cultivate an inclusive, debate-rich environment for up to 25 students Serve in a “whole-school service” role (e.g., Equity Lead, Tutoring Lead) to drive schoolwide civic and cultural initiatives Driver Goals
NWEA Growth: 70% Qualifications
Degree: Bachelor’s in History, Social Studies Education, Political Science, or related; Master’s degree preferred Certification: Valid Missouri Social Studies/History teaching certification (or willingness to certify ASAP) Experience: 3+ years of high school social studies teaching preferred Skills: Expertise in historical inquiry, Civic literacy, and AP methodologies Other: Eligible to work for any employer in the U.S.; clear criminal background check Proficiency with Microsoft Office, student information systems, instructional technology, and digital research tools (e.g., Google Classroom, DBQ Online) Regular use of a computer-based student Information Management system. Skillful use of digital curriculum resources to enhance student engagement and learning outcomes. Safety Responsibilities
Know, teach, and reinforce our safety policies and procedures. Proactively recognize and report unsafe actions or environments. Respond swiftly and appropriately to emergencies to maintain a safe school climate. Physical Demands
Ability to occasionally exert 20-50 pounds, frequently exert 10-25 pounds. Comfortable using instructional technology extensively throughout the day. Mobility and stamina to supervise, instruct, and support students actively. Active, dynamic classroom and school environment with varying noise levels and frequent interactions. This is not a remote position—all Kairos teachers deliver instruction in-person and onsite at our St. Louis campus. Compensation:
Base Salary for certified teachers with teaching experience starts at: $60,000 Health, Vision, and Dental Insurance. Paid Time Off and wellness reimbursement. School tuition assistance Schedule
