Help Motivated to Act (MTA) keep their donors and supporters engaged and aware of their mission. MTA is looking for writers who would like to provide articles on a bi-weekly or monthly basis for their newsletter. The articles will be based on social and emotional learning topics for children, but written for adults. MTA provides curriculum for schools and appeals to teachers, parents, and grandparents.

They would like to send out newsletters that include the articles submitted by volunteers. The volunteer will also incorporate hyperlinks from MTA's current blogs and newsletters into their articles to encourage readers to click into more articles from MTA. These newsletters should be approximately 150-250 words. Opportunity Requirements & Important Notes

Time Commitment:

At least one to two articles per month for one year. Onboarding Process:

Volunteers would have a Zoom call with one of the co-founders of MTA to discuss the opportunity. Possibly a 15-minute call. Required Skills/Experience:

Research, writing in English or Spanish, emailing. Desired Skills/Experience:

Any experience with elementary students is desirable. Experienced writers are preferred. Physical Requirements:

Computer skills of typing, researching, writing, and emailing. Motivated To Act

The mission of Motivated to Act is to reduce and prevent bullying and discrimination, teach children empathy and inclusion in place of hatred and distrust, and increase their willingness to participate in school and after-school activities. Population Served:

Families, Immigrants, Refugees or Ethnic Groups, Low-income communities, People with Disabilities. Activity Type:

Administrative Support/Clerical, Counseling, Mentoring/Youth Development, Public Relations/Marketing, Family Friendly. Requirements:

Age Minimum (with Adult): 18+, Minimum Age: 18+, Skills: Creative Writing, Writing / Editing. After expressing interest in one or more dates and times you'd like to volunteer, your availability will be sent to the Opportunity Leader who will review and confirm when you should attend. Your donation means more volunteers making an impact on San Diego nonprofits, schools, and parks.
