.**About the Opportunity**The Research Assistant (Neuroinformatics) in the Computational Optics and Translational Imaging (COTI) Lab at Northeastern University will support NIH-funded projects focused on advancing neuroimaging research through the development of open-source software and data-sharing platforms. The role involves developing AI-driven neuroimaging data processing, automation, and open-source packages and libraries for sharing these functionalities with the broader research community. This RA will also contribute to web development and database management for the data sharing portal website.QUALIFICATIONS:* The candidate should have hands-on experience in programming and software development, with proficiency in Python, JavaScript, and TypeScript.* A solid foundation in machine learning, large-data processing and software development, including Python, HTML, CSS, and other web frameworks, is essential.* Candidates should have excellent skills in software engineering best practices, including version control, unit testing, source code management, documentation, and CI/CD workflows.* Candidates with prior experience in graphical user interface design, data visualization, and the publication and maintenance of high-quality software projects will be favorably considered.* Good writing and communication skills are desired.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES:* 45%: Develop automated and AI-driven metadata extraction, query, and data processing pipelines and integrate with the web-based interface.

25%: Implement and manage backend systems, including database management, metadata indexing, user query, and uploading new datasets for efficient data storage and retrieval.
