In This Role
As a
Security & Compliance Engineer , you will play a critical role in strengthening the security posture and compliance readiness of enterprise-scale cloud services hosted in
Azure
and
Power Platform . This is a highly visible position, working across multiple divisions and engaging with stakeholders to assess risk, implement mitigation strategies, and ensure compliance with security frameworks. You'll leverage your technical expertise in Azure security, automation, and risk management to provide both proactive guidance and hands-on remediation. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a collaborative yet execution-focused environment, enjoys balancing technical depth with stakeholder engagement, and is motivated by making an enterprise-wide impact.
Responsibilities Perform in-depth
security and risk assessments
for services deployed on Azure and Power Platform. Document risks in the
Risk Register , ensuring accurate linkage to corresponding remediation actions. Collaborate with engineering teams to track progress on
risk mitigation
and ensure closure. Provide
technical guidance and hands-on remediation support , including dedicated office hours. Capture and standardize remediation steps, building
reusable guidance
for future scenarios. Analyze
security and compliance datasets
using tools such as Azure Data Explorer (Kusto) to surface insights and summarize risk impact. Leverage
automation
to streamline risk tracking, compliance validation, and remediation workflows. Support and participate in
security and compliance campaigns , aligning efforts with corporate and division-wide priorities. Track and manage assigned work via
Azure DevOps , ensuring timely updates and clear documentation. Balance execution with stakeholder communication, contributing both independently (75% heads-down work) and in meetings (15%). Qualifications (Required)
5+ years
of experience in security engineering, cloud risk management, or compliance. 5+ years
of automation and coding experience (e.g., Python, PowerShell, or similar). 5+ years
working with
Azure , including familiarity with its security architecture and services. 3+ years
experience in
security assessments, threat modeling, and risk analysis . 1+ year
experience with
risk management , with knowledge of control frameworks such as
NIST CSF v2 . CISSP certification
(or equivalent, such as SANS GIAC) required. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related technical discipline, OR 5-7 years of directly relevant industry experience. Strong communication skills and a
collaborative, stakeholder-friendly approach . Demonstrated ability to multi-task, prioritize, and work proactively with a strong work ethic. Preferred Qualifications
Hands-on experience with
secure code reviews
and use of static/dynamic analysis tools. Experience securing
Power Platform
components (Canvas Apps, Dataverse, etc.). Familiarity with
compliance automation frameworks or platforms
(e.g., Azure Policy, Microsoft Purview). Track record of developing and documenting
standardized remediation guidance . Ability to thrive in
high-visibility, cross-division environments
with multiple stakeholders. Salary Range
Pay ranges vary based on multiple factors including, without limitation, skill sets, education, responsibilities, experience, and geographical market. The pay range for this position reflects geographic based ranges for Washington state: $110,000 to $115,000 USD/annually. The salary/wage and job title for this opening will be based on the selected candidate's qualifications and experience and may be outside this range.
