Scope of Position: This position leads 2 main areas: 1. Global T&Q organization and 2. Standards and Competitive Intelligence team. Test & Qualification Lead a global team of lab supervisors, engineers, and technicians to test and qualify products in support of the company and product line strategies. Develop and implement processes and tools that effectively and appropriately assign shared resources to projects and teams worldwide. Act as the key interface between the Technology organization and Test and Qualification teams worldwide. Serve as Lab Quality Manager for purposes of lab accreditation and audits. Lead and develop global Test & qualification processes (extensions, improvements, and modifications) in support of the product team and business strategies. Manage the physical space and assets of global Test and Qualification labs. Develop and strengthen the engineering and management skills of the global team. Create strategy and roadmap for T&Q Capability Standards and Competitive Intelligence Represent Corning in national and international standards bodies. Collaborate with standard committees to develop, adapt, and approve new standards. Gather internal feedback and respond to standard ballots. Coordinate with corporate strategy and intelligence groups. Develop and coordinate internal standards strategy. Drive internal consensus between business and technology groups. Influence product roadmaps to support standards strategy. Assist legal and development teams to perform IP assessments. Work with product teams to identify competitive evaluation priorities. Coordinate competitive product evaluation, communicate results internally. Perform product comparison and assess competitive threats or risks. Education and Experience: Bachelor of Science or Engineering Degree or higher in relevant discipline. Considerable experience in the management of complex, cross-functional, culturally diverse teams. Minimum of 10 years total of technology, development, and manufacturing and/or manufacturing engineering with leadership experience. Required Skills: Demonstrated personal initiative with a track record of completing challenging business objectives. Effective leadership, organization, and planning skills, with ability to manage ambiguity, changing priorities and changing requirements. Ability to manage and effectively leverage a team of diverse expertise, backgrounds, cultures, and styles. Strong communication skills and comfort in facilitation of technical personnel Laboratory experience with the equipment and test methods used in Fiber Optic product testing. Desired Skills: Problem-solving (RCA, KT, Scientific Method) Leadership and planning People & Equipment management Technical aptitude and Mechanistic thinking Travel Requirements:
Up to 25% Hours of work/work schedule/flex time:
40 hours per week w/ flex time Compensation and Benefits: The range for this position is $182,600.00-$251,075.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
