Senior GIS Specialist

Talent Space, Inc. is looking for a Senior GIS Specialist for one of its clients in San Jose. Responsibilities Lead the

design, development, and implementation

of web and mobile GIS applications. Configure and publish

REST services

and related deliverables using

Esri ArcGIS 11.x extensions, add-ons, or comparable platforms . Engineer and maintain

complex geoprocessing routines and ETL pipelines

using

FME Workbench/Server and/or Python ; automate data workflows for efficiency. Collaborate with senior staff to define

database and metadata standards , and author

standard operating procedures . Support system

integration with enterprise systems

including asset management, SCADA, business intelligence, and work order management. Troubleshoot system issues, document technical processes, provide end-user support, and participate in

system upgrades . Partner with stakeholders to define requirements, evaluate technologies, and select appropriate solutions. Serve as

subject matter expert

for assigned projects, managing requirements, coordinating with contractors, project managers, and internal staff. Deliver

proactive and reactive support

for mission-critical systems, resolving incidents promptly. Perform other GIS-related duties as assigned. Required Education & Experience

Bachelor's degree

in GIS, Geography, Computer Science, Data Science, or related field (Master's preferred). 5+ years of GIS experience

(utilities or public works strongly preferred). 2+ years

hands-on with the

Esri ArcGIS suite

(ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Portal, ArcGIS Server, spatial analysis, Geocortex Essentials). 2+ years

of experience automating data workflows with

FME Desktop/Server, Python, or ArcPy . Proven expertise in developing and customizing

Esri Enterprise web/mobile applications . Strong knowledge of

relational databases

(Oracle Spatial, PostgreSQL, SQL Server) and tools (Toad, pgAdmin). Proficiency in

data integration and pipeline creation , troubleshooting failed processes, and preparing data across spatial databases and SaaS platforms. Hands-on experience with

project management and product development tools

(e.g., Jira). Advanced knowledge of

geographic principles, cartography, topology, and database design . Strong skills with

APIs, REST services, JSON, XML , and related integration patterns. Proficiency with

Python, SQL, Regular Expressions, and Arcade scripting . Experience with

data visualization tools

(ArcGIS Dashboards, Tableau). Excellent

communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder engagement skills .
