Position Overview:
A
GIS Specialist
will be responsible for the generation and maintenance of telecommunications mapping databases. In this role, you will collaborate with engineering and design teams to execute various engineering project tasks while adhering to client specifications.
Responsibilities Utilize Geographic Information Systems (GIS) technology to create, analyze, and maintain spatial data for telecommunications clients. Communicate with project managers and field personnel to produce high-quality deliverables in accordance with deadlines, client expectations, and JSI standards. Perform rigorous quality control/quality assurance (QC/QA) checks on GIS data to ensure geometric and topological accuracy and attribute integrity. Identify publicly available datasets from municipal, county, state, and federal sources. Continually improve knowledge of GIS and mapping programs. Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
FTTH design experience (layouts, routing, splice points, etc.) with ArcGIS and/or QGIS is required. Strong computer skills and interest in exploring other tools and technologies. Self-driven and able to meet goals and deadlines. Collaborative teamwork experience and strong communication skills. Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in GIS, engineering, or a related field. Telecommunications mapping and/or design experience in AutoCAD or related programs. Benefits and Compensation
