Are you a passionate problem-solver who advocates for your clients and bridges business needs and technology? CAS Severn, Inc. is seeking a skilled Pre-sales Architect to design and implement complex solutions for our customers, focusing on data protection, hybrid cloud, and virtualization technologies. Key Responsibilities
Lead discovery and technical requirements gathering to understand customer needs and business goals. Assess existing systems and identify solutions and improvements, especially in environments leveraging Rubrik, Cohesity, Nutanix, Dell data center and VMware. Prepare and complete solution architecture/design as well as detailed line-item configurations and bill-of-materials (BOMs). Create and present compelling proposals for technology solutions, including architecture for hybrid cloud, HCI, and data protection. Support the sales team in identifying and documenting customer business and technical needs throughout the sales process, and recommend appropriate CAS Severn solutions. Collaborate with sales, project management, and delivery teams to ensure seamless transition from pre-sales to post-sales delivery. Stay up to date on emerging technologies and expand expertise in data protection, disaster recovery, and virtualization. Participate in on-site customer meetings and travel within the Maryland/Virginia/D.C. area as needed. Complete required training and keep OEM certification up to date as directed by management for your focus area. Awareness of and high-level architectural experience with data center networking, including advanced concepts like abstracted networks (VMware NSX, Nutanix Flow, Cisco ACI) and firewalls (Palo, Fortinet, Cisco). Essential Skills & Expertise
Excellent presentation and communication skills; comfortable with customer interaction and technical presentations. Strong emotional intelligence, time management, and a passion for problem-solving. Verifiable expertise in Hybrid Cloud and Data Protection, with hands-on experience in Rubrik, Cohesity, Nutanix, and VMware solutions. Experience in Azure and AWS a plus. Experience in post-sales delivery, ensuring successful implementation and customer satisfaction, and a strong history of customer advocacy and ownership of issues and challenges. Knowledge of networking solutions, including network, Ethernet, LAN, and WAN design. Beneficial experience in security (Zero Trust, Network Security, Cyber Security), cloud-native solutions, WiFi, firewalls, load balancing, and network services. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent education and work experience. Minimum 3 years in a customer-facing solution architecture role; 5–7 years preferred. Experience as a vendor or Value-Added Reseller (VAR) resource with pre-sales responsibilities is highly desired. Certifications: Cisco certifications preferred; other relevant certifications in Rubrik, Cohesity, Nutanix, or VMware are a plus.
