Position Summary

We are seeking a

Material Handler

to work out of our Milwaukee Service Center. This position is responsible for maintaining inventory of both raw and finished materials within shipping and receiving, moving finished goods and raw materials in and out of the warehouse as needed, delivering materials and supplies, and staging products for production or shipment. This position is also responsible for operating and maintaining the saw for raw materials.

Essential Duties

Off-load stock from delivery vehicles using forklift and/or overhead crane; load/unload freight carriers and sign bills of lading. Build crates and package materials for stock or shipment. Store bar stock in proper locations, and mark identifying item numbers on remaining stock before transferring to designated areas. Working from instructions, cut bar stock per dimensional data on manufacturing work orders; deburr finished pieces to remove major burrs. Mark identifying data on cut pieces and transfer them to the appropriate manufacturing location. Move material to and from the CNC shop as required. Empty machine tool chip hoppers throughout the shop, including CNC and high bay areas. May make vendor and/or warehouse deliveries and pickups as required. Assist shipping and receiving as needed. Maintain clean and orderly internal pallet storage area. Empty shop garbage and recycling cans. Assist in physical inventory. Perform general housekeeping and maintenance of the work area. Maintain a clean, safe working environment in accordance with Company, OSHA, and facility safety rules and regulations. Identify new or improved processes. Maintain productive working relationships with all levels of employees, suppliers, and customers. Perform other duties and activities as directed. Education and Required Experience

High School GED with one to three years of related experience in a manufacturing, industrial construction, utilities, or warehouse environment. Ability to operate various machining and cutting tools, as well as related equipment. Skilled in the safe operation of forklifts and overhead cranes. Proficient in using measuring devices with a strong focus on quality control. Possess basic mathematical knowledge and basic computer skills. Demonstrates strong attention to detail, effective communication skills, and a solid mechanical aptitude. Knowledge of different hand tools and proper use Experience with bobcat, skid-steer, forklift, overhead cranes

The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include Close vision, Distance vision and Ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; and use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee frequently is required to talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and taste or smell.

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to work near moving mechanical parts, fumes, or airborne particles, and toxic or caustic chemicals. The employee is occasionally exposed to work in high, precarious places, and risk of shock. The employee is occasionally exposed to extreme heat, extreme cold and wet, humid conditions. The noise level in the work environment is frequently loud.
