Overview Area Sales Manager – San Diego, CA | Remote

Western Funding Inc. is a fast-growing auto finance company and subsidiary of Westlake Financial Services. We provide automobile financing to borrowers with limited access to traditional credit. Our Area Sales Managers are committed to helping dealer partners sell more cars by financing more customers.

What’s the role? The Area Sales Manager is the face of the company to our dealers. The role focuses on increasing funded deals by partnering with dealers who are a good fit. It involves growth through identifying, onboarding, and managing dealer relationships within the local region. A consultative sales and management approach is required, with strong relationships to help dealers understand how the program can grow their business. This is a full-time position reporting to Regional Sales Managers. Candidates should be based in the US, comfortable working remotely and on the road.

What is it like being part of our External Sales Team? New Hire training is provided to ensure success in the role. You will be part of a supportive team that helps you overcome sales barriers.

What you’ll do as our Area Sales Manager

Present and communicate company products and services to all levels of management within Independent and Franchise Dealerships in person

Identify sales prospects and contact assigned accounts

Follow-up on new leads and referrals from telephone calls for Independent and Franchise dealers

Develop, maintain and grow current and potential dealer partners within the Independent and Franchise Dealer communities

Maintain consistent communication with dealer partners on current programs

Train dealers in Western Funding including proper documentation needed for fast funding of contracts

Qualifications

Working knowledge of MS Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

High School diploma or equivalent (required)

College degree or equivalent work experience (preferred)

Strong knowledge of Automotive, Finance and Sales

Experience in Financial Services or within a Car Dealership

1-2 years of experience in a challenging sales role with a proven track record

Clear and effective presentation skills

Strong interpersonal and communication skills

Knowledge of warm calling, appointment setting, and sales techniques

Strong computer skills and adaptability to new technology

Results-oriented and able to work independently and in a team

Bi-lingual (Spanish) a plus

Willingness to travel up to 75% of the time to visit Auto Dealers

Valid driver’s license is required; driving is an essential function

Compensation Plan

First-Year Salary Range: $54,000 - $125,000 per year (base salary + commissions)

Average rep earnings after 1 year: $79,000

Average earnings of top 10 reps: $125,000

Commission potential: No cap

Monthly mileage reimbursement: Approximately $450/month

Starting compensation determined at hire based on location, experience, and credentials
