Sr. Director of Application Design & Customer Engineering

Overview Senior leadership role leading an applied engineering organization focused on timing solutions for AI, datacenter, and telecommunications markets. This role serves as the primary technical expert with customers, guiding requirements, architecture, and delivery of advanced semiconductor timing solutions and driving global Customer Engineering (CE) team performance. Act as the primary technical expert with customers—gather final requirements, translate them into engineering deliverables, and partner with R&D to architect and deliver advanced semiconductor timing solutions. Build and mentor a solution-centric, customer-obsessed global Customer Engineering team that consistently delivers results. Maximize opportunities across strategic semiconductor accounts and reference design partners through deep timing and system-level expertise, both pre-sale and post-sale. Establish and maintain strong technical relationships with system architects and hardware engineering leadership at key datacenter, AI, and telecom customers. Deliver impactful training programs, application use cases, competitive analysis, and technical collateral to increase sales effectiveness. Influence roadmap and product definition by channeling customer and application insights into product strategy. Qualifications

B.S. in Electrical Engineering required; M.S. preferred. 10+ years in applications or design engineering within the semiconductor industry (timing, analog/mixed-signal, power, memory, RF, or similar). Proven success managing and scaling global application / customer engineering teams. Strong track record in customer-facing technical leadership and solution delivery. Solid understanding of datacenter and networking system architectures and design methodologies. Ability to align semiconductor technical solutions with customer and market needs, influencing both technical and executive stakeholders. Preferred Qualifications

Timing Expertise: Hands-on experience with oscillators (XO, TCXO, OCXO, VCXO), MEMS oscillators, frequency synthesizers, clock generators, clock trees, buffers, low-jitter design, and phase noise. Industry Background: Leadership roles at top semiconductor or timing companies (e.g., Marvell, Silicon Labs, IDT/Renesas, Microchip, OnSemi, TDK, Epson, Aura, etc.). Market Alignment: Direct experience building semiconductor solutions for AI, datacenter, and telecom/communications customers. Compensation & Benefits
