Assistant or Associate Professor – University of Hawai’i

The University of Hawai’i at Manoa is seeking an Assistant or Associate Professor in Oceanography. The position is tenure-track and full-time, with a monthly salary range of I3M11/I4M11, competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience. The School of Ocean and Earth Science and Technology (SOEST) invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position in climate dynamics in relation to ocean physics. The successful candidate will excel in research, teaching, and their integration, develop extramurally funded research programs, and interact with colleagues across the department and SOEST. Duties and Responsibilities

The Department of Oceanography is seeking applicants with expertise and research experience in climate dynamics and ocean physics, including the role of the ocean in past, present, and future climate, coupled ocean-atmosphere systems, and climate dynamics with a focus on observations and/or numerical modeling. The candidate will teach, mentor, and supervise students in the undergraduate Global Environmental Science and graduate Oceanography programs. Minimum Qualifications

For Assistant Professor: Ph.D. in oceanography, climate sciences, or a relevant discipline; expertise and research experience in climate dynamics and ocean physics; demonstrated capability for creative, high-quality research; and ability and interest to teach and mentor undergraduate and graduate students. For Associate Professor: In addition to the minimum qualifications for Assistant Professor, at least four years of college/university teaching at the rank of assistant professor or equivalent, with increasing professional maturity.
