The University of Florida College of Medicine – Jacksonville is seeking a highly qualified, board-certified Forensic Child Abuse Pediatrician to serve as Division Chief of the Child Protection Team within the Department of Pediatrics. Job Summary:

This is a full-time faculty position at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor level, commensurate with experience and academic accomplishments. The successful candidate will provide administrative and academic leadership to advance the Division’s mission of protecting vulnerable children. Responsibilities: Provide strategic academic leadership for the Division of Child Protection. Share in providing strategic direction, operational oversight, and fiscal management for the Division. Foster a culture of excellence, accountability, and collaboration within the team. Ensure compliance with state and institutional requirements governing child protection programs. Represent the Division and Department at institutional, community, and statewide forums. Clinical & Forensic Services: Partner with the CPT Medical Director to support clinical quality and program development. Provide expert medical evaluations and forensic assessments of suspected child abuse and neglect cases. Collaborate with child welfare agencies, law enforcement, legal professionals, and community partners. Offer consultation and testimony in judicial proceedings as needed. Provide guidance on complex cases and promote evidence-based standards of care in child abuse pediatrics. Education & Training: Serve as Program Director for the Child Abuse Pediatrics Fellowship, responsible for program oversight, curriculum development, faculty coordination, ACGME compliance, and trainee mentorship. Teach and mentor medical students, residents, fellows, and multidisciplinary team members in child protection. Develop and deliver educational curricula in child abuse pediatrics and forensic medicine. Promote awareness and education across the medical and community workforce regarding child protection. Research & Scholarship: Engage in scholarly activities, including research, quality improvement, and publication in child abuse pediatrics or related fields. Support the growth of research initiatives within the Division and across the Department. Seek extramural funding and collaborative opportunities when appropriate. Requirements: MD or DO degree from an accredited institution. Fellowship trained, BC/BE in Pediatric Child Protection. Licensed (or eligible for licensure) to practice medicine in the State of Florida. Preferred Qualifications: Academic record (teaching, research, publications, service) commensurate with appointment at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor rank. Demonstrated leadership skills with prior administrative or program leadership experience preferred. Commitment to excellence in clinical care, education, and scholarship.
