The Team Black & Veatch’s Fuels & Natural Resources focuses on global investors and operators who need to tap into Black & Veatch’s portfolio of large-scale solutions for converting resources into fuels and feedstocks. The team works across consulting, FEED, full engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) and commissioning/start-up of gas processing, NGL fractionation, hydrogen and related processes. The Opportunity As a

Senior Process Engineer

with the Gas Processes Team, you will:

Function as a technical specialist and/or have management/administrative responsibilities for a group and projects.

Lead process engineering design of chemical facilities, including LNG, Carbon Capture, Hydrogen, Fertilizers (Ammonia, Urea, etc.), Gasification, Fermentation, Sulfur Recovery, Gas Treatment, Biofuels, Syngas Processing, and NGL Recovery and Fractionation.

Lead implementation of solutions through the project lifecycle: feasibility, FEL stages, FEED, detailed design, EPC and commissioning.

Mentor junior engineers and review their work.

The ideal candidate will be located or willing to relocate to our World Headquarters Office in Overland Park, KS (Kansas City) or our Regional Office in Houston, TX.

Responsibilities

Provide guidance on department design guides, standards, systems, engineering codes and B&V policies. Maintain or develop engineering standards and guides; provide technical guidance on projects or disciplines.

Ensure compliance with B&V quality program; promote quality culture; support continuous improvement, change management and risk management.

Prepare complex engineering deliverables for multiple or mega projects; perform research and recommend equipment/materials; manage data for engineering work.

Prepare complex calculations; manage budgets, schedules and quality; develop advanced engineering solutions; supervise task delegation and review of lower-level work; may lead production teams and coordinate multiple disciplines.

Coordinate with internal/external teams on complex projects; define project schedules for single or multiple disciplines.

Identify client interests and drivers; communicate and align the project team to address these in the work plan.

Identify future client needs and support business development or pursuit activities.

Serve as technical specialist in a broad or specialized field; apply advanced concepts to unique problems; may support chief engineers or senior management.

Oversee performance management, career development, and related HR activities; mentor and develop staff as needed.

Management Responsibilities Supervises work of others; responsible for hiring, discipline, and pay administration of subordinates.

Preferred Qualifications

5+ years of LNG liquefaction design or related technologies.

Professional Engineer (PE) license.

Working knowledge of PRO II, Promax, Protreat, HYSYS and similar process simulation tools.

Strong written and interpersonal skills; demonstrated ability to lead and build effective teams.

Advanced knowledge of engineering design principles and relevant standards for process engineering.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an accredited program.

Minimum of 11 years related work experience.

Active engineering licensure to support engineer of record (EOR) requirements for BV projects where applicable (Professional Engineer-PE).

Certifications Active engineering licensure to support EOR requirements where applicable (Professional Engineer - PE).

Work Environment/Physical Demands Hybrid or flexible work options may be offered after the first 90 days, based on manager discretion, performance, and work assignments.
