We seek a passionate Manager Machine Learning Engineer to support, build and scale the personalization and search platforms for the global streaming app Max as well as ongoing and future streaming initiatives. You will work in a fast-moving environment that fosters engineering and operational excellence with continuous development, deployment, experimentation, quality assurance, and collaboration. You will be a hands-on leader and mentor, building a world-class team of machine learning and full stack engineers and partnering with business, data science, platform, infra, and downstream application teams. Responsibilities
Architect and develop robust engineering solutions that utilize machine learning models and algorithms to support personalization. Manage project priorities and ensure timely delivery. Build and lead a team of machine learning and full stack engineers; mentor the team in the latest ML technologies and processes. Partner with business and data science leadership for opportunity sizing and prioritizing product capabilities. Collaborate with platform and infra teams to build fault-tolerant solutions and accelerate the learning cycle. Develop interfaces between ML products and downstream applications; coordinate with ML Platform teams for training, serving and feature needs. Develop ML systems roadmap with Data Science teams and educate stakeholders to drive resourcing and implementation. Evangelize engineering best practices for scoping, building, validating, deploying, and monitoring ML/AI products. Qualifications & Experience
Technical education in Computer Science, Information Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience (Master’s preferred). 8+ years of experience developing engineering solutions for ML and Data Science applications with a track record of innovation and business impact. 2+ years leading and growing high-performance engineering teams. Familiarity with practical aspects of machine learning; proficiency in Python and OOP languages including Go, Java or C++. Experience with Agile methodologies; experience deploying large-scale ML algorithms and advanced modeling solutions. Self-starter with the ability to deliver results in a fast-paced environment; strong communication to explain complex systems to non-technical audiences; ability to work with cross-functional teams. Experience with recommender/search/ad serving algorithms is a plus. How We Get Things Done
