Overview
The Resort Facilities Engineer plays a critical role in maintaining the seamless operation of all physical aspects of our Forbes-rated luxury property. This includes preventative maintenance, timely repair, and ensuring all facilities meet the highest standards of safety, aesthetics, and functionality. The ideal candidate is technically skilled, service-oriented, and committed to supporting an exceptional guest experience through proactive maintenance and meticulous attention to detail. Key Responsibilities
Perform routine and emergency maintenance and repairs across all resort facilities, including guest rooms, public areas, spa, pool, kitchens, and back-of-house areas. Respond promptly and professionally to guest service calls and engineering-related guest issues, ensuring quick resolution with minimal disruption. Work closely with housekeeping, front office, and food & beverage departments to support operational needs and enhance guest satisfaction. Participate in the resort’s preventive maintenance program, documenting tasks and ensuring compliance with Forbes and internal quality standards. Conduct regular inspections to ensure all mechanical, HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems function efficiently and safely. Maintain tools and equipment in clean and serviceable condition. Adhere to all safety protocols and OSHA regulations. Support sustainability and energy conservation initiatives, including monitoring utility systems and recommending improvements. Maintain cleanliness and organization of engineering workspaces and mechanical rooms. Perform other related duties as assigned to support the overall success of the team and business. Qualifications and Skills
Ability to work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays. Minimum 3 years of experience in hospitality/resort engineering or general building maintenance. Strong knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, kitchen, and life-safety systems. Excellent communication and guest service skills; professionalism in guest-facing situations is essential. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, luxury hospitality environment. Physical Requirements
Must be able to safely lift, move, and stack items weighing up to 40 lbs. Able to perform physical tasks, including bending, lifting, sitting and standing for extended periods.
