Your Role: Our cloud-based vulnerability management platform is built for today’s dynamic IT assets, including cloud, containers, and web apps. In this role you will continue to rapidly build out the platform, scale it automatically, and make it more self-managing for our private and US Government cloud customers. Responsibilities Responsible for taking the code and functionality of Tenable cloud products and ensuring they’re reliable and highly available in private cloud environments Respond to support escalations involving troubleshooting complex technical problems and resolving data/configuration issues within defined service level objectives Develop software, tools, and scripts to automate deployment, management, and monitoring of production systems in all environments Provide strategic and thought leadership among peers on complex projects Collaborate with cloud engineers to understand new cloud technologies, assess impact to security services operations, and propose solutions to business problems Contribute to the software development lifecycle by developing detailed enhancement/bug definitions, writing functional requirements, translating requirements into designs, and guiding them to production deployments Identify ways to create efficiencies within operations related to the tools and technology used to support customers Manage, participate in, or lead additional projects, assignments, or initiatives as directed by management Create and maintain documentation for operational procedures Drive standardization across disciplines and services in collaboration with embedded SREs Document and perform system upgrades, application updates, and define monitoring requirements based on customer needs Participate in an on-call rotation and support 24x7 availability of production application systems Remediate infrastructure and container security vulnerabilities What You'll Need 6+ years of related SRE experience Experience with Terraform or similar IaC technologies 2+ years of platform development in compliance with FedRAMP requirements and related government standards 3+ years deploying public cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, Azure) with experience administering managed AWS services (EKS, OpenSearch, MSK, Batch, etc.) Experience with Kubernetes and Docker or similar container solutions Bachelor's or Master's degree in a technical field or equivalent work experience Strong experience with Agile methodologies and collaboration with internal teams to deliver software and configuration artifacts Strong scripting experience (bash) and higher-level languages (Python or Node.js) Experience leading projects to completion with a team Experience deploying distributed, microservice-oriented applications at scale Desire to learn, advocate for new technologies, and work as part of a team Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to work in a collaborative environment High degree of personal integrity and ability to maintain confidentiality Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and results-driven And Ideally: Experience deploying distributed, microservice-oriented applications Experience with distributed monitoring tools (Datadog, Splunk, OTEL, etc.) Experience with datastore technologies (Kafka, Elasticsearch, DynamoDB, RDS Aurora PostgreSQL) Experience with Helm Experience with Go, Java/Kotlin, and/or Groovy Experience with Java build tools (Gradle) 2+ years of operational experience with big data services technologies #LI-Hybrid #LI-LP1 This is the base pay range for this position. Compensation will depend on qualifications, location, and experience, and may fall outside the range shown. Eligible for variable compensation in addition to base pay.
