The Global Products Group (GPG) creates KLA\'s metrology and inspection products. EBeam provides the eyes of KLA\'s product line, delivering timely information on defects and critical locations on wafers at the highest spatial resolution. Description/Preferred Qualifications The E-beam technology team seeks a Sr. Optical Design Engineer for developing electron detectors using standard or new technologies. The role includes concepts, designs, development and testing of prototypes, and productization. The ideal candidate will lead detector, sub-system module, and signal chain development from start to end. Responsibilities Provide technical leadership in detector design and technologies. Serve as a key resource to identify and investigate new concepts, develop performance improvements, methods, and sub-systems. Collaborate with internal and external partners to develop or improve technologies and processes. Design, characterize, calibrate, and integrate detectors and the associated modules. Develop and communicate system requirement documents, error budgets, mechanical and electrical interfaces, signal chain details, working parameters and verification test plans. Participate in design, simulation, reviews, validation, and experiments for system characterization, debugging, and risk mitigation. Coordinate design, sourcing, and verification activities with electrical, mechanical, optical, and software engineering teams. Work with vendors to source key components and provide scope-of-work documentation. Travel for vendor or customer engagement as needed. Minimum Qualifications Doctorate (Academic) Degree and minimum related work experience of 5 years; Master\'s Degree with minimum related work experience of 8 years. Base Pay Range: $159,300.00 - $270,800.00 Annually. Primary Location: USA-CA-Milpitas.
