Manufacturing Engineering & Maintenance Manager
Job summary: The Manufacturing Engineering and Maintenance Manager leads the planning and coordination of the Maintenance and Engineering Team activities, facilitating efficient manufacturing operations across the plant. This role focuses on developing lean manufacturing strategies that increase OEE and reduce costs.
Responsibilities
Recruiting, training, retention, coaching, mentoring, and performance of your teams.
Ensure EHS standards are complied with by Engineering, Maintenance, and Contractors.
Develop plant strategies and establish tactical goals and priorities for Engineering (Plant, Controls, SME) and Maintenance (RCT, Tactical, Central).
Manage the development and revisions of standard work such as SOPs and PMs.
Create and implement corrective actions to meet the Engineering and Maintenance budgets.
Manage relationships with contractors and service providers related to installation, repair, and maintenance of equipment and facilities.
Manages implementation of Lean Methodologies and Continuous Improvement by leading facility design and layout to meet Lean principles.
Analyze current manufacturing operations to identify opportunities for environmental, health, safety, quality, and cost improvement.
Actively supports APQP for new programs, including Voice of the Plant for Design for Manufacturability, equipment, tooling and part design, and supplier selection.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing/mechanical engineering, Industrial Management, Maintenance Management, or equivalent experience, required.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in automotive manufacturing focusing on welding, metal forming, machining, and assembly, required.
Experience with problem-solving methods (Red X, Six Sigma, 8D, etc.), required.
Understanding of Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement Techniques, required.
Previous managerial experience preferred, supervisory experience, required.
Understanding of DFM (Design for Manufacturability) methods and processes, required.
Knowledge of customer specific standards (TS16949, ISO14001, ISO45001, etc.), required.
Understanding of asset re-utilization and effective planning to limit asset impairment, required.
Knowledge and execution experience as it relates to APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, Control Plans, and Process Flow, required.
Strong communication skills both verbal and written, required.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, required.
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, required.
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Must be able to lift 25 pounds.
