Overview

NBC Olympics is seeking a BOC Maintenance Core Manager within the International Broadcast Center (IBC) Engineering department to support the 2026 Milan Winter Games. In this position, you will provide technical engineering support of the core routing and transmission systems in the NBC Sports facility within the IBC in Milan and will be a part of the Engineering Team for NBC Olympics in country. The position requires both hands-on technical skills, as well as interpersonal skills to effectively work with our engineering and operational partners in the IBC, Stamford Connecticut headquarters, and with Olympic Broadcasting Services (OBS). Responsibilities

Provide front-line support for core broadcast systems, including routing, transmission, multiviewers, reference distribution, audio systems, and encoders/decoders Interface with BOC operators and supervisors, and engineering partners at venues, Stamford CT headquarters, and OBS in troubleshooting and resolving technical issues during system checkout period and during Games time Assist in configuration and system checks prior to the Games and help with teardown Qualifications

Basic Requirements

Minimum five (5+) years of experience in live broadcast engineering Experience in video and audio routing systems in a network-level broadcast facility with complex signal paths and workflows Experience with video and audio transmission systems, including baseband fiber optics, compressed IP multicast, and satellite Proficiency in general IP networking, including configuring and troubleshooting network connectivity issues Ability to read and understand broadcast system wiring and flow diagrams Familiarity with broadcast signal test equipment and procedures, including waveform monitors, audio metering, lip-sync measurement, IP analyzers, etc Desired Characteristics

Familiarity with SMPTE ST 2110 standards Experience in HDR workflows Ability to effectively work in a fast-paced production environment and stay calm under the pressures of high-profile live television Experience working on world-broadcast sporting events, either for a rights holder or host broadcaster Familiarity with a wide variety of broadcast production equipment, including cameras, audio, intercoms, displays, conversion gear, monitoring & control systems Passion for working on large-scale events like the Olympics Business fluent (written and spoken) in English Additional Requirements
