Role overview: We are looking for a Senior Electrical, Instrumentation, and Controls (EIC) Engineer to join our team and lead the design and execution of projects across the Oil & Gas and Utility sectors. This role provides technical direction, design review, cross-discipline coordination, and client/vendor interaction throughout all project phases. You will lead the development of complete electrical and I&C design packages, support system studies and equipment specifications, and mentor less experienced team members. This is a hands-on design role with opportunities to grow into greater leadership and project responsibility. Key Responsibilities

Select, specify, and review electrical equipment (switchgear, MCCs, VFDs, transformers, UPS, PDCs, power panels). Perform and oversee electrical system studies (load flow, short circuit, arc-flash, coordination) using ETAP or SKM. Execute and validate electrical calculations (cable sizing, voltage drop, conduit sizing/fill, short circuit levels). Review and approve vendor submittals, BOMs, and support equipment procurement. Provide technical direction for junior engineers and designers on electrical scope. Instrumentation & Controls (I&C): Oversee development of complete I&C design packages (instrument location plans, instrument lists, I/O lists; loop, ladder, and wiring diagrams; control panel layouts, terminal diagrams, panel BOMs). Develop P&IDs with process and mechanical teams, supervise instrument datasheets, control philosophies, and cause & effect matrices. Specify and validate design for PLCs, RTUs, SCADA, instrumentation, and control system components. Guide network architecture and industrial protocol selection (e.g., Modbus, DNP3, Ethernet/IP). Mentor I&C team members on panel design, loop development, and control strategy implementation. Support FAT/SAT documentation and field integration planning. Familiarity with I&C design software such as AutoCAD Electrical, SPI (Intools), or similar is preferred. Project Development & General Assignments: Lead conceptual design development, execution strategies, and technical portions of proposals. Support or lead scope development, cost estimating, and scheduling. Conduct site walks to gather field data and evaluate design constraints. Participate in or lead HAZOP, LOPA, and other risk or safety reviews. Maintain design quality through internal QA/QC reviews, checklist compliance, and redline resolution. Serve as technical liaison for clients and vendors during design and procurement phases. Mentor junior engineers, review their work, and contribute to development of internal design standards, tools, and templates. Support or lead construction activities, including RFI responses, as-built drawing reviews, and commissioning assistance. Qualifications

Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering or related degree from an ABET-accredited program with 3 years of electrical engineering experience (consulting preferred); or Bachelor Degree in Electrical or related Engineering Technology from an ABET-accredited program with successful completion of Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam and 3 years of electrical engineering experience (consulting preferred); or Master Degree in Electrical Engineering with 2 years of electrical engineering experience (consulting preferred).
