Job Summary
Join a
leading California electric utility
in a key engineering role that supports the structural integrity of high-voltage transmission systems. You’ll lead critical infrastructure projects involving lattice towers and foundations, ensuring compliance with
industry standards
while mentoring junior engineers and supporting emergency restoration efforts.
Key Responsibilities
Lead all
Transmission line structural engineering
tasks related to lattice towers and foundations Serve as SME in
PLS Tower analysis
and modeling of structures per ASCE/SCE standards Provide expertise in
design/review of foundations
(drilled shafts, direct embed, micro pile, grillage) using FAD Tools, hand calcs, or other software Perform
structural load calculations
per NESC, California General Order 95, and relevant codes Coordinate field efforts for
construction support , inspections, and emergency responses Prepare
engineering mitigation reports
for damaged structures and footings Mentor and guide less experienced engineers; promote knowledge sharing Maintain
QA/QC process adherence
and site safety compliance Build effective working relationships with internal teams and stakeholders
Required Experience
7+ years in
Transmission line engineering Experience with
PLS TOWER, PLS CADD, and FAD TOOLS Strong background in
load calculations and foundation design Bachelor's or Master’s in
Civil (Structural) Engineering California Civil PE License
(Structural emphasis preferred)
Nice-to-Have Experience
California SE (Structural) license preferred Experience mentoring engineering teams Utility sector project leadership
