Overview
BluSky Restoration is seeking a Construction Project Director. This position has a starting salary of $70,000 to $110,000 depending on experience, with uncapped commission potential. The role will be based at the Waukegan, IL branch.
Responsibilities
Project leadership for estimating, closing the sale of, and managing restoration projects
Develop cost estimates for restoration, renovation, environmental, and roofing services for commercial, multifamily, senior living, healthcare, hospitality, and residential properties damaged by disasters
Serve as the project lead to ensure budgets and timelines are met through completion
Coordinate with owners and managers and work closely with internal teams to drive project success

Duties & Responsibilities
Sales:
Meet or exceed monthly and yearly sales goals; negotiate and execute contracts; sell all BluSky services; convert opportunities into sales; track and measure sales in CRM
Revenue:
Oversee revenue production and ensure timely deposit, progress, and final billings; provide oversight to the Project Manager on revenue; review project schedules
Profit Margins:
Develop and own project budgets aligned with target margins; ensure budget accuracy and adjust as needed; seek to improve profitability
AR & Collections:
Conduct early AR conversations with customers; understand invoicing terms and processes; perform weekly collections; monitor A/R aging and maintain DSO around 75 days
Near Term Opportunities:
Work with clients and claims teams to close leads; maintain client communication; document communications in BluSky CRM
Business Development Activity:
Schedule and attend two BD meetings per week; participate in events; entertain clients as needed; partner with BD and VP on sales
Estimating Proficiency:
Accurate sketching and use of estimation tools (e.g., Xactimate); evaluate budgets to fit target margins
Customer Satisfaction:
Maintain weekly communication with stakeholders; set expectations; ensure updates are provided
Internal Coordination:
Coordinate with Mitigation and Reconstruction teams; obtain signed work authorizations; review T&M sheets; ensure site visits meet client expectations
Project Accountants:
Oversee work authorizations and invoicing processes; work with PA to upload change orders
Qualifications & Requirements
5+ years of marketing/business development and sales experience in restoration or construction with a proven sales growth track record
Extensive construction estimating and/or large loss catastrophe experience
Ability to attend business development networking events 2–3 evenings per week
Intermediate Microsoft Office skills
Experience with Xactimate and other estimating software
Experience with LinkedIn and other social media platforms
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Strong knowledge of project management, financial processes, and administration
Strong ethics, integrity, and ability to work autonomously
OSHA 10 or 30, CPR and First Aid certifications
Education
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience related to the role
Travel
Minimal out-of-state travel required; some out-of-area and overnight travel may be needed for training, meetings, or jobs
