Overview
CDM Smith is hiring Automation and Instrumentation & Controls Professionals. We have multiple openings for Automation and Instrumentation & Controls Specialists to support our public, private and federal clients locally and around the world with all phases of SCADA automation projects. Job Title: Automation Specialist 4 Group: ISO • Employment Type: Regular Responsibilities
Creates basic to moderately complex instrumentation, controls and related systems designs using 3D and 4D design practices. Assists with specification development. Creates basic to moderately complex human-machine interface (HMI) graphics, programmable logic controller programming (PLC), report development, etc. Assists with testing and startup of control systems. Reviews basic to highly complex component level shop drawings, contractor clarifications. Assists with testing oversight. Leads staff and provides direction and mentoring for junior staff. Reviews the work of junior staff as necessary. Under general supervision, assists in the preparation of proposal sections and presentations. Supports marketing and new business activities as requested in support of the Automation strategy. May participate in proposals. Performs other duties as required. Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree 5 years of related experience Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a college degree. Domestic and/or international travel may be required. Travel frequency depends on duties, responsibilities, and workload. Preferred Qualifications: Experience with Water/Wastewater highly preferred. Experience within an Engineering and/or an integration firm highly preferred. Skills & Abilities
Strong knowledge of instrumentation, controls and related systems designs. PLC and HMI experience required. Excellent communication skills. Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office suite. Expert knowledge of 3D and 4D design practices. Other Details

Background checks, drug testing and other pre-employment processes may be required. Pay Range Minimum: $81,765; Pay Range Maximum: $134,909. Other compensation may apply at the company’s discretion.
