PURPOSE:

Form a vibrant personal faith journey, provide vision, purpose, plans, goals and implementation for the ministry to PIPC families in particular, and Pawleys Island families in general. STATUS:

Full-time, Exempt PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Cultivate a vibrant personal faith journey Prioritize daily time to nurture your own faith journey Pray consistently for the church and its leaders. Consistently model a heart for worship and passionate participation in worship. Intentional Ministry Work with the Pastor to set the Family Ministry vision, purpose, plan, and goals. Implement a Family Ministry plan that includes Loving God and Loving Others, and utilizes times of family availability (Sunday morning, Sunday evening, weekends and summer). Create an atmosphere where the gospel is shared and others are always invited in. Student Ministry Leadership Hands-on, leading a vibrant ministry to students. Recruit, train, equip, and nurture church members to leadership roles in Student Ministry. Grow disciples of Christ through building relationships with students. Provide Worship, Community, Discipleship, Service and Mission opportunities for students. Reach out and help students reach out to the unchurched students in the community. Children’s Ministry Leadership Guide a team to lead a vibrant ministry to children. Recruit, train, equip, and nurture church members to leadership roles in Children’s Ministry. Build relationships with parents and children, in order to encourage growth in faith. Provide opportunities for children to come to know Jesus, grow in their faith, and serve. Encourage Young Adults to worship, growth and service within the church. Encourage Parents to worship, growth and service within the church. Perform other duties as needed. Be a team player. Cooperate with the Senior Pastor and other staff members, performing other duties when asked to do so. Participate in committee meetings, staff meetings and retreats. Represent the church by serving on appropriate committees of the denomination and organizations in the community. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES The incumbent who serves as Director of Family Ministry should have the following qualifications: Profound Christian faith which will enable incumbent to serve as spiritual mentor to children. Organizational skills and the ability to handle several tasks simultaneously. Interpersonal skills that will enable him/her to be sensitive to and cognizant of staff and church member needs and concerns. Willingness to cooperate with other staff members to effect efficient operation of the church office. Ability to work under pressure and to deal effectively with numerous conflicting situations. Familiarity with necessary Apps and software (e.g., Facebook, YouTube, Microsoft, etc.). Baccalaureate degree in related field from an accredited college or university, or sufficient experience with ministering to students and children. PERFORMANCE EVALUATION Performance evaluations will be conducted at least on an annual basis by the Senior Pastor and the Personnel Ministry, who shall also review compensation for its adequacy and make recommendations for action to the appropriate bodies. CHANGES / MODIFICATIONS This job description may be amended under the direction of the Senior Pastor and the Personnel Ministry. SALARY AND BENEFITS The salary has a wide range due to experience levels. The range will be from $35,000 to $55,000. The health benefits and vacation time are outstanding. All of the details will be shared during the first interview.
