GIS-Map Developer
GovCIO is currently hiring for a GIS-Map Developer to support the USPS. Responsibilities include working with GIS software and platforms, programming languages, and tools for web mapping and spatial data management. The role involves analyzing and translating business requirements into geospatial software designs, designing and developing mapping applications, and building interactive web maps. The candidate must handle and manipulate geospatial data, utilize GIS software such as ArcGIS, and automate geospatial analysis processes. Collaboration with stakeholders and team members is essential to ensure database design meets project requirements. Qualifications include a Bachelor's degree with 8+ years of GIS development experience or commensurate experience, 5+ years in designing large IT solutions, strong leadership and team-building skills, proficiency in ESRI ArcGIS software, understanding of geospatial data formats, strong problem-solving and analytical skills, effective communication skills, and proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, JavaScript, and C#. Familiarity with GIS platforms like ArcGIS, QGIS, and web mapping technologies, spatial databases, and cloud computing services is also required.
