Areya Media
The Social & Culture Content Manager contributes to Okayplayer’s mission by creating culturally relevant and audience-driven content that engages followers across digital and social platforms. This role oversees content calendars, tracks trends, and supports the execution of campaigns while maintaining the Okayplayer brand voice.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategy & Planning:
Develop, manage and execute social content calendars, conceptualize strategies for Okayplayer and Okayshop, identify partnership opportunities, collaborate with Sales and Design teams. Content Creation & Curation:
Create and curate social-first content to increase followers, reach, engagement, and views, and ensure quality control with Design and Video teams. Team Leadership & Management:
Manage and oversee content across platforms and ensure alignment with marketing goals for social media coordinators, producers, and interns. Performance Monitoring & Reporting:
Monitor platforms for trends, determine engagement, develop campaign ideas, set performance goals, and produce weekly analytical reports. Additional Duties: Assist in executing on-the-ground social coverage and talent interviews at events, activations, and live experiences as needed. Produce culturally relevant video driven content across Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Threads, and Facebook. The Social & Culture Media Manager should be an in depth expert in the Okayplayer Brand Culture, Social Trends, and Black culture overall. They should have the following skills, education and experience: A results-oriented critical thinker with strong copywriting skills who can interpret trends. 5+ years of leadership experience in social media marketing, with a preference for brand-side experience. Profound understanding and fluency in the nuances of all major social platforms, including paid media, best practices, promotional campaigns, and ad opportunities. Proven experience running paid social campaigns across platforms like Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Reddit, and TikTok. Deep knowledge of the Okayplayer brand and voice, coupled with a passion for music, social justice, art, film, news, comedy, and technology (especially online communities and the web).
