Cardiovascular/Electrophysiology Specialist III position at Carolinas Medical Center - Cardiac Cath Lab. Full time, Benefits Eligible. Hours per Week: 36. Schedule Details/Additional Information: Weekend Days. Shift(s): 10-hour shifts (combination of 4 weekdays M-F, assumed 6:30 AM - 5:00 PM); 12-hour shifts (combination of 2 weekdays and 1 weekend day, assumed 6:30 AM - 7:00 PM). This position is Sign-On Bonus eligible and may qualify for relocation assistance if applicable. Job Summary
The Cardiovascular/Electrophysiology Specialist III provides professional care in the SHVI Invasive Cardiac, Electrophysiology, and Vascular Laboratories in accordance with hospital policies and procedures. Essential Functions
Demonstrates evidence-based practice and performs care for the comfort and wellbeing of the patient. Performs and/or assists with treatments, therapies, and procedures (including scrub assistant, monitoring and circulating) under the direction of the physician. Administers medication under the direct supervision of the physician, as appropriate. Documents a current clinical picture and records designated information in the patient record. Conveys relevant information to physicians and teammates. Calculates, interprets and analyzes data. Assists in development of policies, procedures and standards of care reflective of current practice/literature. Highly recommended to participate in committee and governance activities. Physical Requirements
Intermittent to rapid pace with high-pressure situations, requiring periods of concentration and critical thinking. Work requires walking, standing, sitting, lifting, reaching, stooping, bending, pushing, and pulling. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds. Fluency in reading, writing and speaking English. Vision, hearing, touch, dexterity and good hand-eye coordination. May wear lead radiation protection aprons (10-20 lbs). Must be able to respond quickly to changes in patient and/or unit conditions. Potential exposure to radiation, secretions and blood. Confined work area. Education, Experience and Certifications
Satisfactory completion of high school and an accredited program of Cardiovascular/Cardiopulmonary technology, The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists, or related field required. Invasive Cardiovascular Specialist/Electrophysiology Specialist training or experience preferred. Graduate of an accredited Allied Health Technology program (e.g., Radiologic Technology, Respiratory Therapy) or Cardiovascular Interventional Program with a minimum of two years of experience as a Cardiovascular Specialist.
