Summary
- Children’s Learning Centers of Fairfield County (CLC), formerly Childcare Learning Centers, is a leading comprehensive family services program providing inventive education and care to young children, birth through 5, while also providing comprehensive services for its families. CLC is currently looking to enhance our Education Coordinator Team. Primary role - Responsible for coordinating services of the education component for the Child Development Program.
Supervision and Scope
Directly supervise Head teachers and oversee the teaching staff composed of Head Teachers, Teachers, Teacher Assistants, Teacher Aides and Substitutes.
Duties
Integrate the School Readiness Performance Standards into daily practice using the Creative Curriculum and Teaching Strategies Gold.
Ensure the implementation of the curriculum and the screening and assessment of all children
Generate and analyze child outcomes measures
Develop, revise and update the Learning Experience Plan with the Assistant Director and Director.
Supervise directly the Head Teachers
Provide guidance and support to all teaching staff
Ensure all classrooms meet education and licensing standards
Complete Performance Evaluations
Provide and coordinate training for all teaching staff
Maintain proper documentation for teachers files
Assist in developing individualized professional plans for all teaching staff
Monitor all teaching staffs continuing education according to the OECeducation portal requirements
Approve and coordinate scheduling including vacation and personal day requests
Attend and participate in classroom team meeting
Provide training to staff and parents on child development
Attend and participate in parent meetings involving concerns in the classroom
Coordinate with the Health Manager, Mental Health Coordinator and Nutrition Coordinator services responsive to all children including children with disabilities
Oversee the implementation of IEPs and IFSPs
Attend and participate in -Component and Case Conference meeting.
Coordinate the transition of all children including children with disabilities to CLC Site locations or other SPS locations.
Assist parents during the transition process.
Maintain proper documentation for all children files.
Review children’s records for ongoing monitoring
Interface with licensing/Health Department and ensure compliance to guidelines
Assist with scheduling of field trips and approve all requests for classroom field trips
Facilitate parent involvement in curriculum development
Participate in program planning, community assessment, self-assessment, goals and objectives and improvement plan
All other miscellaneous duties as assigned by supervisor
Training Responsibilities
Participate actively in one-to-one supervision and staff development.
Take advantage of local, state and regional training opportunities to enhance services to children and families.
Train existing and new staff on child development.
Reports
Meet deadlines for monthly and/or special reports.
Follow through with child outcomes measures results with the leadership of the Education Manager
Other
Duties/Projects as deemed necessary.
Qualifications/Job Requirements (knowledge, experience, training required to perform the job):
Degree in Early Childhood Education with 3-5 years supervisory experience, ability to travel throughout Stamford, valid driver's license, ability to prioritize and delegate, ability to function well in a crisis situation, strong follow-up skills necessary,
Background Check and Drug Test is required.
