We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Specimen Collector to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for collecting biological specimens from patients in a safe and efficient manner, ensuring adherence to all laboratory procedures and protocols. Duties
Collect specimens such as blood, urine, or other biological samples from patients using appropriate techniques. Perform phlebotomy procedures while maintaining aseptic technique to ensure specimen integrity. Utilize laboratory techniques and procedures to prepare specimens for analysis. Maintain accurate records of specimen collection and ensure proper labeling and handling of samples. Collaborate with laboratory management to ensure compliance with safety regulations and quality standards. Assist in the training of new staff on laboratory procedures and specimen collection techniques. Stay updated on veterinary terminology, anatomy knowledge, and pediatric considerations relevant to specimen collection. Requirements
Proven experience in specimen collection or related laboratory roles is preferred. Proficiency in phlebotomizing and catheterizing techniques. Familiarity with laboratory management practices and research laboratory environments. Strong understanding of laboratory procedures and aseptic techniques. Knowledge of anatomy and veterinary terminology is an asset. Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients and healthcare professionals. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a dynamic setting.
