Overview
We are looking to hire a Sr. UNIX Linux Engineer contractor. This is a local role in the office each workday. In this role, you will be responsible for participating on a team that administers, maintains, and supports all UNIX Server hardware and Operating Systems including Linux, Solaris, Azure, and AWS EC2 instances. Responsibilities
Ansible scripting and automation Monitoring the environment for performance and stability to meet Service Level objectives Maintaining system patching and security levels Developing Ansible playbooks and modules Creating and deploying Ansible solutions for a distributed data center infrastructure environment Installing, configuring, testing, and maintaining operating systems, application software and system management tools Troubleshooting and resolving issues in dev, test, and production environments Root cause analysis on incidents related to UNIX systems, hardware, and OS/software Maintaining the environment to satisfy security requirements set by business drivers, Information Security, and Compliance departments Updating system and process documentation and user guides as needed (diagrams and SOPs as needed) Participating in an On-Call rotation to address production related issues Ability to objectively handle escalation of reported incidents Qualifications & Skills
Ansible scripting and automation BS degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Engineering or a related subject or 5+ years experience in given field Advanced scripting and automation skills with some of the following: Ansible Playbooks, Perl, PowerShell, Python, Ruby, Shell Linux/Unix administration, performance tuning, and troubleshooting skills Hands-on experience with networking technologies and protocols such as TCP/IP, UDP, NFS and CIFS Experience working in a hybrid cloud environment Red Hat Satellite familiarity for patching and managing baselines Virtualization technology such as VMware, Nutanix, Oracle/Solaris is a plus Basic knowledge of Git/Gitlab and Ansible Tower Working knowledge of DNS, Sendmail, SNMP, and Postfix configurations Knowledge of PCI and SOC1/SOC2 mandates Must be capable of coping with pressure situations, good planning skills, and ability to work well with others in a team environment A self-starter with good interpersonal skills who can work with management, peers, or end-users and lead a team on projects Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment where priorities can shift daily to meet business objectives AD Integration/LDAP configuration and troubleshooting across multiple Unix platforms Familiar with ServiceNow ticket system, SolarWinds, Splunk, and Dynatrace monitoring tools RHCE or RHCSA Job Details
