Cybersecurity Analyst III

HII Mission Technologies Division is seeking a Cybersecurity Analyst III to strengthen and protect the Naval Integrated Training Environment (NITE) network. In this role, you will oversee the architecture, design, implementation, and operational integrity of cybersecurity across critical infrastructure components. Your expertise will help safeguard mission-essential systems against evolving cyber threats while ensuring compliance with federal requirements, industry standards, and best practices. Because this role supports a government contract, responsibilities may shift over time to align with evolving customer needs and contractual requirements. Your work will directly support the readiness and resilience of the U.S. Navy's training environment. By identifying vulnerabilities, implementing secure solutions, and advising on risk management, you will play a key role in protecting national security interests and enabling sailors to train with confidence on secure, reliable systems. What you will do: Conduct comprehensive security assessments of servers, workstations, databases, and network infrastructure to identify vulnerabilities and risks. Prepare detailed reports of findings to support the security authorization process and ensure compliance with applicable standards and frameworks. Develop and configure customized scanning and testing protocols to meet Federal security configuration standards and regulatory requirements. Map findings from manual or automated testing to applicable National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) 800-53 security controls or policies. Analyze cybersecurity directives, policies, and instructions, including Communications Tasking Orders (CTOs), Fragmentary/Task/Operations Orders (FRAG/TASK/OPORDs), Information Assurance Vulnerability Management (IAVM) notices, Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) guidance, and Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG) requirements. Track and report compliance status in the Vulnerability Remediation Asset Manager (VRAM) and other required reporting tools. Evaluate the adequacy of existing security testing tools and recommend emerging technologies to address gaps. Provide subject matter expertise on vulnerabilities, including exploitation methods, mitigation strategies, remediation approaches, and impact severity. Deliver written and verbal analysis of security architecture documentation, vulnerability assessments, and risk reports to support informed decision-making. Assist in developing and tracking Plans of Action and Milestones (POA&Ms) related to cybersecurity requirements. Coordinate with system owners to ensure appropriate artifacts are developed to support system authorizations. Serve as a trusted security advisor to the Government on all aspects of Risk Management Framework (RMF). Work independently while collaborating effectively in a team environment. Adapt to changing priorities and respond promptly to time-sensitive tasks. Stay proactive in completing mandatory training and annual Continuing Professional Development (CPD) courses. What you must have: Education & Experience (choose one): 5 years of relevant experience with a Bachelor's degree in a related field, OR 3 years of relevant experience with a Master's degree in a related field, OR 9 years of relevant experience with a High School Diploma or equivalent Technical Skills: Experience using Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS) Experience using DISA Endpoint Security Solutions (ESS), ePolicy Orchestrator (ePO), and Trellix Compliance with Department of Defense (DoD) Cyber Information Technology/Cybersecurity Workforce (Cyber IT/CSWF) Program requirements (DoD 8140.03-M and SECNAV M-5239.2) at the Information Assurance Technician Level II (IAT-II) Certifications & Credentials: Must have a Department of Defense (DoD) 8570-compliant certification at the Information Assurance Technician (IAT) Level II, such as CompTIA Security+ CE. Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Top Secret security clearance with SCI eligibility Preferred Requirements: CompTIA Network+ or equivalent networking knowledge CompTIA Cybersecurity Analyst (CySA+) or equivalent Cyber Analyst knowledge Current DISA ACAS Administrator Training certificate Current DISA ESS Administrator Training certificate Experience applying STIGs Physical Requirements: May require working in an office, industrial, shipboard, or laboratory environment.
