Winsor School
The Winsor School is an independent girls’ school for academically promising and motivated students in grades five through twelve. Located in Boston’s Longwood Medical and Academic Research area, Winsor offers a diverse and talented community with a commitment to respect and inclusion. The Winsor School is seeking an Academic Registrar for immediate hire. The registrar serves as the official keeper of the school’s student and course records and is responsible for the compilation and maintenance of student records in compliance with school policy, federal and state law, and accreditation standards. The registrar collaborates with division heads to coordinate grading and comment writing, course registration, and the implementation of the academic schedule. The registrar maintains records of all current courses and, with the Upper School head and college counseling, determines students’ eligibility for graduation and prepares data for GPAs, transcripts, and school profiles. The Academic Registrar reports to the division heads.

Qualifications

Student Records and Data Management
Serves as authorized keeper of all student records: transcripts, standardized test scores, GPA calculations and off-campus program documentation (Mountain School, SEGL, and SYA). Organizes and administers the verification of records for course registration and graduation requirements. Processes new student records, including requesting transcripts and records from other schools. Verifies and enters student data in the school database. Collaborates with division heads, college counseling, and other offices to facilitate and improve services to students, such as transcripts and recommendation requests, standardized test administration, records management, and academic policy questions. Provides data for outside organizations and government agencies requiring student data, such as NAIS, AISNE, NEASC, and the State of Massachusetts. Other duties as assigned by the division heads. Works with division heads to set and administer course selection procedures. Coordinates with the director of admission on new student registration and course registration. Works with division heads and department heads to update online academic information and course catalogs and to configure courses in the student information system. Works with division heads to create the academic schedule, rosters, and classroom assignments Manages the dissemination of student and faculty schedules. Works with the division heads and department heads to manage student schedule changes during the academic year. Manages classroom scheduling during the academic year. Collaborates with the division heads and associate head on school events, like Back-To-School-Night, that involve scheduling, data, and communications. Exam Administration and End of Term Procedures
Supports the AP coordinator with Advanced Placement Exam administration and registration. Prepares and coordinates exams and end-of-term schedules. Processes grades and comments at the end of each marking period. College Counseling
Processes requests for student records and transcripts and verifications as needed. Supports college counseling with the annual production of the School Profile. Technology
Utilizes the Blackbaud database management system to manage academic records and generate transcripts and report cards. Facilitates the digital interface between parents and faculty for grades and comments at midterm, mid-year and end of year. Manages the booking of multipurpose rooms for events in the online database. Other Duties
Opportunities to coach, advise a group of students in either the Lower or Upper School, and work with students on independent projects and clubs. Other duties, as assigned. Department: Administration
