Position is responsible for processing parts, conduct system performance checks, document results and perform equipment standardization in accordance with approved work instructions. When specified and approved by the Responsible Level 3, may perform interpretations and evaluations. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Conducts equipment standardizations, process parts and document results. Reports possible internal or external defects, such as bursts, cracks, laminations, pinholes, voids, or other defects to Ultrasonic Level 2 or Level 3. Operates ultrasonic examination equipment and other examination units required to test, measure, and inspect materials and products. Prepares material or product as required in order to properly examine material by cleaning, identifying, setup, etc. May read or interpret blueprints or drawings, specifications and scan procedures in order to accomplish ultrasonic setups, tests, and report preparation. Conducts regular and complex standardizations for examinations of parts to determine acceptability of material or product. Set up and calibration of nondestructive test equipment. Conduct inspection and be able to detect discontinuities using ultrasonicequipment, when approved by the Responsible Level 3. Accurately process test results & create reports. Verify that company product is to specifications and standards. Proper maintenance of Ultrasonic Inspection equipment. Operates over head cranes, work-savers, fork trucks and other materials handling equipment as needed to perform work. Fill out and maintain logs, work sheets and other records listing dates, method, test results, etc. Keeps close track of work in progress and regularly communicates with co-workers, Leads, Supervisors and Managers (as needed). Promote and maintain a safe work environment Maintain an acceptable attendance record Maintain a working knowledge of Company policies and procedures. Comply with all APP, Inc. safety rules and company policies. Skills, Knowledge and Abilities Must be able to complete in class training Ultrasonic Level I Must pass required Level I testing per NAS 410 and other customer certification tests. Basic - addition, subtraction, division, multiplication, and percentages. Requires working knowledge of blueprint/schematics. Quality focused and strong attention to detail required. Must be able to perform complete sonic inspection on specific product or product form. General knowledge of shop operations and processes. Ability to demonstrate proper operation of tools. Pay particular attention to details to ensure parts pass the test being completed NDT Inspections Certificate(s) for NDT Methods Intermediate Computer Skills - Microsoft Office; Internet-based programs, E-mail, experience with an ERP system (e.g. IFS, Cert App). English (reading, writing, verbal and comprehend). Communicate with co-workers, supervisor, and QC personnel. Will be safety conscious and put safety first. Work with little or no supervision throughout shift. Must be able to work occasional overtime to meet operational deadlines. Compensation: $20.00 - $23.73 an hour. This is the lowest to highest hourly rate we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future. An employee’s pay within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, and business or organizational needs.
