Overview
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic
Surgery Center Administrator
to lead day-to-day operations at a state-of-the-art, multispecialty ambulatory surgery center (ASC) located in Walnut Creek, CA. The facility features four operating rooms and provides surgical services across General Surgery, Orthopedics, Urology, Colorectal, ENT, Pain Management, Podiatry, and Hand Surgery. This is a full-time, onsite leadership role offering significant impact, professional growth, and the opportunity to shape a high-performing surgical center. Responsibilities
Operations & Compliance
Oversee all daily operations of the ASC, ensuring regulatory and accreditation compliance Monitor and optimize financial performance, budgeting, staffing, and supply chain activities Maintain strong working relationships with the governing board, corporate leadership, and medical staff
Business Development & Strategy
Lead strategic planning and growth initiatives Develop marketing strategies and identify opportunities to expand service lines Analyze local market trends and establish competitive pricing
Staff & Performance Management
Recruit, train, and manage clinical and administrative staff Facilitate staff meetings and foster a culture of engagement and accountability Align staffing models with surgical volume and productivity goals
Clinical Oversight
Ensure the delivery of safe, high-quality patient care Collaborate with the Medical Director and department leads to maintain clinical excellence Oversee departments including nursing, central supply, and medical records
Quality & Risk Management
Lead infection control, quality improvement, and patient safety initiatives Analyze quality indicators and implement performance improvement measures
Medical Staff Relations
Manage physician credentialing and medical staff bylaws Cultivate strong, collaborative relationships with the medical community
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree or clinical background (e.g., RN) preferred Minimum 3 years of leadership experience in a large ASC or surgical healthcare setting Proven track record in operations, finance, regulatory compliance, and physician engagement Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills Orthopedic surgery center leadership experience highly preferred Salary & Benefits
Salary Range: $160,000 – $180,000 + Bonus Full Benefits Package: Medical, dental, vision, 401(k), PTO, and more Relocation Assistance: Available for qualified candidates Visa Sponsorship: Not available for this position Work Environment
