http://www.uco.edu/la . Position Announcement The Department of English seeks a Full-Time Temporary Visiting Assistant Professor for Spring (January

May) 2026. The Department of English at the University of Central Oklahoma is committed to recruiting and maintaining a diverse faculty and to creating a welcoming environment for all. Duties and Responsibilities: The teaching load is 12 credit-hours (four courses) per semester. Primary teaching responsibilities will include Developmental English and/or First-Year Composition, possibly including concurrent sections of First-Year Composition taught off-site in local high schools; courses in other areas may be assigned as departmental need requires. Minimum Qualifications Required: A Ph.D. in English and a commitment to high-quality teaching are required. Preferred: Preference will be given to applicants whose Ph.D. is in Composition and/or Rhetoric or a related field and who have at least two years of experience teaching Developmental English and/or First-Year Composition in a college or university setting Required Documents: Please complete an online faculty application with cover letter, curriculum vitae, list of three professional references, and degree transcripts for all degrees are required.
