Allan Myers is seeking an
Experienced Skilled Excavator Operator
with a strong background in
mainline pipe installation
to join our Heavy Civil Construction team. The ideal candidate has at least
five (5) plus years of experience
operating excavators in underground utility work and site development. This position plays a critical role in the safe and precise excavation for stormwater, sewer, and waterline systems. Key Responsibilities
Operate hydraulic excavators (e.g., Cat 320, 330, 336 or similar) to excavate trenches for
storm, sanitary, and water mainline pipe installations . Work closely with pipe crews and foremen to ensure proper trench depth, slope, and bedding for utilities.
Utilize
GPS and/or laser-guided systems
for accurate digging and grade control.
Read and interpret construction plans, blueprints, grade stakes, and utility layouts.
Perform routine daily equipment inspections, maintenance checks, and report mechanical issues promptly.
Ensure safe trenching practices in compliance with
OSHA regulations
and company safety policies.
Maintain clean and organized work zones and contribute to overall crew productivity.
Qualifications & Requirements
Minimum 5 plus years of excavator operating experience
in
mainline pipe installation
for heavy civil construction.
Strong understanding of
trench safety , soil conditions, and utility installation methods.
Ability to work independently and as part of a coordinated pipe crew.
Comfortable working in a physically demanding outdoor environment and various weather conditions.
Valid driver's license required; CDL is a plus.
Must pass pre-employment drug screening and background check.
