We are seeking an experienced
Traveling Superintendent
to oversee
retail and restaurant construction projects . This role is
90% travel , managing multiple sites across the Western U.S., while maintaining a
strong presence onsite
for project oversight, safety, and quality. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, highly organized, and able to build strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and field teams. Key Responsibilities
Provide on-site leadership for construction activities, ensuring adherence to safety, quality, and schedule standards Oversee and coordinate subcontractors, service techs, and vendors (HVAC, electrical, etc.) across multiple job sites Communicate professionally with clients, architects, vendors, and project stakeholders Develop and maintain 3-week look-ahead schedules and coordinate with trade partners Interpret and enforce compliance with construction plans, specifications, and contracts Manage submittals, RFI responses, inspections, and quality control efforts Document daily logs, progress photos, and project reports Attend weekly project and subcontractor meetings Prepare and submit progress reports, change orders, and punch lists Partner with Project Management for structured project close-out Implement best practices to enhance project delivery and team efficiency Qualifications
Minimum 3 years of experience as a Superintendent managing
commercial or retail construction projects , preferably in
restaurant or retail spaces Experience managing multiple projects and teams in a fast-paced environment Strong leadership, multitasking, and time management skills Excellent communication and relationship management abilities Proficiency with construction management software (Procore, MS Project, Bluebeam) Knowledge of construction safety regulations and best practices Willingness to travel extensively across multiple states, including weekends as required EEO and Accessibility
