Position Overview We are seeking an Estimator to join our team in Anaheim, CA. This role is responsible for preparing accurate and competitive bids for structural steel and miscellaneous metals projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in steel fabrication and erection, union labor environments, and California construction markets. Key Responsibilities Review drawings, specifications, and bid documents to prepare detailed estimates. Quantify materials, labor, and equipment for both structural steel and miscellaneous metals. Apply union labor rates, burden, and productivity factors to develop accurate cost models. Collaborate with project managers, fabricators, and field personnel to validate constructability and production rates. Manage RFI process during bidding and maintain communication with general contractors and subcontractors. Develop and maintain estimating templates, cost breakdowns, and historical pricing data. Support the business development team with timely, accurate, and competitive proposals. Qualifications 3+ years of estimating experience in structural steel and miscellaneous metals. Strong knowledge of fabrication, field erection, and union ironworker labor practices (Local 433 experience preferred). Proficiency in reading structural drawings, shop drawings, and connection details. Solid understanding of production rates for steel erection, welding, and bolting. Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel (experience with estimating templates and formulas required). Strong communication and organizational skills. Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment while meeting deadlines. Compensation & Benefits Competitive salary based on experience.
