General Contractor in the Bay Area
seeking a
Chief Estimator
to lead and oversee all preconstruction and estimating functions. This is a senior leadership role with direct impact on the companys growth strategy, client relationships, and project success. Responsibilities Lead the estimating department, providing guidance, mentorship, and oversight to a team of estimators. Manage all preconstruction activities including conceptual budgets, detailed estimates, cost models, and bid packages. Partner closely with executive leadership, project management, and operations teams to align project budgets with company goals. Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and industry partners. Review and analyze drawings, specifications, proposals, and other documentation to prepare accurate and competitive estimates. Qualifications 15+ years of progressive estimating experience within the commercial construction industry. Proven leadership experience managing teams and department operations. Deep knowledge of Bay Area construction markets, subcontractor networks, and cost structures. Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
