RB Global Inc. is hiring: Software Engineer in Chicago

Description The Software Engineer, as a member of the software development team, will focus on developing, enhancing, and maintaining our proprietary e-commerce software platform. Our customers trust our company when buying and selling heavy equipment, trucks, and other capital assets they use to run their businesses. This is a hybrid role based out of our Westchester, IL location. Qualifications At least five (5) years of .NET Development leveraging .NET Core, .NET 4.x, ASP.NET, C#, MVC, Web API, SQL Server, and MySQL Prior experience building software in a professional, multi-team environment Skills in building and maintaining scalable, fault-tolerant products Knowledge of Agile and the full software development lifecycle, including deployment and operation Dedication to the quality of work through unit testing, automation testing, and supporting support staff during incidents Hands-on Azure experience (e.g., Azure App Services, Azure SQL, Azure Functions, Azure DevOps) Knowledge of authentication frameworks (OAuth2, JWT) Proficiency in HTML5, CSS, JQuery, Bootstrap, JavaScript, and JSON Exposure to Blazor or modern front-end frameworks (React, Angular, Vue.js) Deep understanding of RESTful web services and microservices architecture Knowledge of mobile app development Responsibilities Own parts of the microservices architecture Contribute to project delivery schedule by estimating work and time required Identify unclear areas, escalate or find technical solutions independently Dive into large codebases, understand components, and contribute quickly Clarify requirements and work with engineers to develop solutions Perform other duties as assigned EEO Information Ritchie Bros. is an equal opportunity employer and ensures nondiscrimination in all activities in accordance with applicable laws.
