Primary Job Function

The General Sanitation Team member is a member of the cleaning crew whose duties are to clean and sanitize condiment manufacturing equipment and areas meeting all GMP and Food Safety Standards as well as the Plant Safety Standards.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities · Detailed sanitation and up-keep of the facility along with ensuring that all processing equipment is properly cleaned and sanitized to establish standards to process food products. · Sweep and squeegee floors · Carries out the day-to-day cleaning and duties of the sanitation department in a timely manner. · Comply with GMP and Food safety guidelines, identify and report food safety and food quality issues · Work within a cold and wet environment and wear special company provided company gear always. · Cleaning and sanitizing condiment manufacturing equipment as required. · Operating cleaning equipment such as the tote washer, floor scrubber and high-pressure cleaning devices. · Disassemble/ Reassemble processing equipment in a timely manner. · Wear employer-specified protective gear, including two pairs of gloves, face/eye shields, aprons, boots, etc. (some of which to be supplied by employer). · Exposure to chemical cleaning solution (with protective gear). Use water, chemicals, and sanitizer to clean and sanitize equipment. · Perform all tasks safely and in a manner that will not create or pose a direct threat to the health and/or safety of the sanitation worker or any other person. · Follow Safety Guidelines in accordance with Safe Practices and Job Safety Analysis. · Follow all OSHA safety guidelines required by company · Working safely (wearing PPE and reporting unsafe conditions). Applying LOTO devices as needed · Daily task includes disposal of organic waste and recyclable materials. · Cleaning moving and unguarded equipment in such a manner to prevent personal injury, equipment damage and production downtime. · Ensuring hand and foot bath containers are filled at start-up. · Maintaining sanitary conditions in the washroom, chemical room, compactor areas · Support the plant’s Safety, Quality, TPM and Cost Initiatives. · Must be able to climb to heights as high as 20 feet to access and clean storage vessels · Frequently lift/move hoses, equipment, chemical containers weighing 20-50 lbs. · Assist in transporting heavy equipment with forklifts or other devices. · Assist in CIP process and duties associated with changing out process pipes · Assist in bottle blowing process, when needed · Has knowledge and understands OSHA, HACCP, SQF, ISO and Safety requirements within a food manufacturing environment. · Responsible to report food safety and quality concerns to Supervision, Quality or Senior Management. Support the SQF system through adherence to plant policies and procedures. · Perform other duties as assigned by Supervisor

Qualification Requirements

All job duties are hands on and are completely at fast pace working around water and cleaning materials. The duty requires some climbing, bending, kneeling, pulling and pushing. This includes using high pressure hoses. Must be able to lift a minimum

of 50 lbs. Must be okay with working weekends and overtime. Must comply with all established food safety and GMPs, safety procedures along with OSHA rules and regulations. The work environment and physical demands described here are representative of those required by an employee. Must have a good attendance record

Education and Experience

· A High School Diploma or general education degree (GED) is required. · Two years manufacturing, mechanical or technical experience is required · Previous experience with sanitation in a food plant and CIP equipment preferred.
