HR Business Partner
William Charles Construction is now hiring an HR Business Partner in Rockford, IL!
The HR Business Partner is tasked with ensuring alignment between the business operations and HR practices and objectives of multiple companies within the segment. The HR Business Partner provides consulting and coaching to departmental leaders and managers in order to support the business's vision, mission and overall objectives. The HR Business Partner will focus on business growth, workforce strategy, consulting, talent initiatives, organizational effectiveness, change management and leadership development. The HR Business Partner maintains an effective level of business literacy about the business unit's financial position, its midrange plans, its culture and its competition.

Responsibilities
- Partner with business leaders to implement and support HR strategies, programs and initiatives that support the overall strategic direction and goals
- Build strong relationships with local management and management throughout the enterprise to fully understand their needs and make recommendations for improvement related to workforce planning, processes, culture, and other HR related items
- Takes active part supporting the Regional HR Director on designing and executing long-range HR business objectives and strategic plans focused on workforce planning and staffing, talent management and succession planning
- Provide coaching and resources to assist managers with employment law, investigations, coaching, progressive discipline, conditions of employment, accommodations, leaves of absences, terminations and employee development and engagement
- Complete the day-to-day administration of on-boarding new hires in applicant tracking system and HRIS
- Oversee and manage a performance appraisal system that drives high performance
- Analyzes trends and metrics in partnership with the HR group to develop solutions, programs, and policies
- Acts as business unit liaison to other departments in the organization such as Training & Development, Talent Acquisition, Marketing/Communications, and Culture Analytics teams
- Leads change by partnering with leaders on planning, implementing and communicating necessary changes involving employees
- Partners with the Compensation group on promotions and pay adjustments to ensure pay equity.
- Maintain a high level of HR and industry knowledge to recognize efficiencies throughout the organization and remain compliant with federal/state laws and regulations
- Lead special projects in relation to organizational goals and strategies
- Other duties as assigned by the Human Resources Director
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) and 5+ years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Professional certification is preferred (ex. SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP)
- Strong understanding of talent management principles and practices, including talent acquisition, performance management, learning and development, and succession planning
- Working knowledge of HRIS system (iCIMS and UKG preferred)
- Strong knowledge of HR laws and regulations
- Highly proficient in MS Office Suite, advanced level a plus
- Ability to communicate effectively in writing, verbally and presentations
- Ability to work independently and use good judgement under pressure
- Ability to work within a matrix organization
- Experience within Construction Industry is preferred
- Regional travel may be required
