Job Description
Lead, motivate, and develop staff members in assigned Quality Inspection Lab. Monitor and improve inspection lab metrics and processes. Inspect and evaluate components to determine if they are compliant to all HydraForce specifications.
Duties and Responsibilities
The following reflects essential functions for this job but does not restrict the tasks that may be assigned. It is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities as the company may deem necessary.
Train, guide, and mentor inspectors
Monitor and improve inspection metric reports
Monitor team performance and provide feedback
Arrange tasks and personnel according to inspection lab needs
Monitor and assign priority to inspection tasks
Review inspection reports and determine if material can be accepted or rejected
Identify, communicate, and improve quality issues in assigned area
Submit Non-Conformance Material Reports (NCMR) for deviations to inspection process
Generate Temporary Deviation Request (TDR) to request deviation to inspection process
Create and edit inspection routers and templates
Inspect for compliance to standard and record data
Understand and communicate engineering specifications on control documents
Calibrate gauge and perform gauge studies
Communicate inspection results and details with internal team
Coordinate 7S activities in assigned area
Comply with all safety and sanitation regulations
Complete any other tasks as assigned by supervisor
Supervisory Responsibilities
Leads a team of inspectors in the quality inspection lab.
Qualifications
Knowledge/ Experience
A high school graduate or GED
Knowledge of CMM operations including setup and controls.
1+ years' experience in mechanical inspection and manufacturing environment
Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance including the ability to define tolerances on prints and perform inspection techniques.
Ability to follow inspection processes and plans
Previous experience with quality control equipment such as calipers, micrometers, gauges preferred
Previous experience with advanced quality control equipment such as: digital height gauges, surface roughness gauges, coordinate measurement systems, etc. preferred
Proficient with MS Windows, Word, Excel, and Outlook
Some experience with technical specifications and blueprints
The ability to see details at close range
Work independently with little supervision
Exhibit ethical independence and judgment of the parts and process
Clear communication
Critical thinking
