Join Our Team as a 3rd Shift Maintenance Technician!

We are looking for a dedicated Maintenance Technician to join our Supply Chain team on our 3rd Shift from 8:00 pm to 6:30 am, Monday through Thursday. At Staples, people are at the heart of our business, and we work together to make a difference for our customers and community.

As a Maintenance Technician, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our Fulfillment Center. You will conduct preventative and on-demand maintenance on various equipment, including electrical motors, material handling tools, propane torches, man-lifts, hand tools, and more. You'll also handle general building maintenance tasks such as light plumbing, carpentry, and painting, while assisting fellow technicians and relaying supervisor directions.

Your strong technical knowledge of electrical systems, HVAC, energy management, and conveyor systems will be essential in keeping our facility running efficiently. Safety is our top priority, and you will contribute to our safety culture by practicing and promoting safe work methods.

What You'll Bring:

  • A mechanical aptitude with knowledge of hydraulics, electrical systems, and the ability to troubleshoot complex automated systems.
  • Experience working with both high voltage (up to 480VAC) and low voltage DC electrical systems.
  • Familiarity with vendor manuals and the capacity to perform preventative maintenance and troubleshooting tasks.
  • Willingness to be trained and MHE certified to operate power material handling equipment.
  • Strong collaboration skills to build effective relationships with colleagues and customers.
  • Analytical thinking and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Ability to thrive in a warehouse environment with fluctuating temperatures.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • A minimum of four to five years of related experience.
  • Ability to pass a drug screen, as legally permissible.
  • Basic English communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Willingness to work additional hours as required by business needs.
  • Ability to work at heights of 60 feet or more.
  • Capacity to lift or push/pull weights between 70 to 100 pounds.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Background in Mechanical Machinery Maintenance/Commercial settings.
  • Trade school education.
