Job Title: Machine Operator
Job Description
The Machine Operator will work with HMI screens to communicate, diagnose, and run machinery efficiently. Training will be provided for lockout/tagout procedures, particularly during sterilization of machines performed weekly. The role involves communication with technicians to address machine issues such as speed, jams, or misalignments.
Responsibilities
Operate filler machines and clear jams using emergency stop procedures as necessary.
Assist in cleaning and sterilizing machinery weekly.
Develop a strong understanding of machine operations and performance.
Operate packaging equipment including check weighers, metal detectors, and x-ray machines.
Manage manual operations in brine and blending areas, mixing ingredients as per system instructions.
Operate case packers and palletizers in packaging areas.
Conduct quality checks including seals, code dates, and visual inspections on packaging materials.
Load materials for packaging such as cups, film, and boxes.
Lift up to 50 lbs and stand for long periods during shifts.
Essential Skills
3+ years of machine operator experience in an industrial environment.
Experience with changeovers, preventative maintenance, and HMI systems.
2+ years of HMI experience with the ability to monitor and respond to system alerts.
Strong attention to detail and safety consciousness.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Packaging experience is a plus.
Manufacturing experience is required.
Experience in food, canning, liquid, milk, or cosmetic industries is beneficial.
