12:00pm-6:00pm M-F (40 hrs/week) Weekend requirements
JOB SUMMARY: Patient Access Representatives provide patients with a welcoming experience while facilitating access to care. The Patient Access Representative I (PAR I) performs a variety of patient access activities for Inpatient, Outpatient, and Emergency Services. They are cross trained to support roles throughout Patient Access, Scheduling, Pre-Registration, Financial Clearance, Referrals, Authorizations, Financial Counseling, Physician Billing, and Patient Arrival & Registration.
Responsibilities:
Greet and register approximately 25-40 patients daily. Perform bedside registrations in the Emergency Department. Verify insurance eligibility, benefits, and authorization requirements, including Third Party Liability (TPL), Medi-Cal/Medicare, and Workers' Compensation. Provide patient estimates, determine patient liability, and collect cash deposits (co-pays, deductibles, cash packages). Deliver superior customer service in all personal and professional interactions. Utilize PC systems and EPIC EHR to complete registration and related tasks. Cross-train to support additional Patient Access functions as needed. Requirements:
Education: High School Diploma or GED. Experience: 1-2 years hospital registration experience required. Skills Required: PC knowledge. Skills Preferred: Health insurance knowledge; EPIC EHR experience. First Time Traveler Accepted: Yes Scrub Colors/Attire: N/A - Business Professional Attire
