Job Title Heavy Equipment Operator I

Location Warrington, PA, US

Position Summary

Under direct supervision is learning how to operate overhead crane or other heavy equipment. Moves material to and from designated areas. Inspects incoming material and fills out necessary paperwork. Conducts daily inspection of equipment. Follows all safety rules and procedures. Maintains a safe and clean work area. Handles special projects, as assigned.

Essential Functions

Under direct supervision, operates various pieces of heavy equipment, moving materials (Mats) to and from designated areas.

Ability to work in a team environment.

Able to demonstrate knowledge of general equipment, maintenance, care, and use of safety equipment on each piece of machinery.

Understand and demonstrate proper rigging for lifting of material and other equipment, hand signals, spotter responsibility and lesser skilled work.

Must be able to adhere to all safety and quality procedures.

Willing to work “boots on the ground”, assisting with installing Mats, including the cleaning and repair of Mats as required. Must have the willingness to travel (includes overnights) and the ability to work a flexible schedule and/or holidays - attendance, punctuality and timeliness is a must.

Must possess good written and oral communication skills.

Class A CDL is strongly preferred.

Must be able to pass a criminal background check, motor vehicle record check and drug screen/physical (passing DOT physical may be required if driving large vehicles 10k-26k in weight is needed).

Experience with operating a skid steer and loader (non-civil) preferred.

May handle special projects, as assigned by manager.

Education & Experience Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalent. Entry level. Able to demonstrate knowledge of general equipment, maintenance, care and use of safety equipment on each piece of machinery. Understand and demonstrate proper rigging for lifting of material and other equipment, hand signals, spotter responsibility and lesser skilled work. Ability to read, understand, and follow instructions on material paperwork. Good written and oral communication skills. CDL is preferred.
