Summary

Fori Automation, a Lincoln Electric Company, is seeking a highly skilled Senior Project Manager for our Shelby Township, MI location. Fori Automation specializes in designing, building, and integrating custom automated systems for material handling, assembly, testing, and welding, with a strong focus on engineering and manufacturing solutions for the automotive, aerospace, and defense industries. 

The Project Manager will be responsible for managing all engineering, design, procurement, manufacturing, and integration phases of custom automation projects. This includes contract reviews, design and engineering reviews, procurement, manufacturing, internal and customer buyoffs, as well as shipping, installation, production support, and training.

What You Will Do

  • Full accountability for design/build/install projects, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Responsibility for project financials, including budget performance, cash flow, and change management.
  • Ownership of on-time delivery across all assigned projects.
  • Ability to train and mentor project managers, while developing and implementing strategies to achieve both company-wide and project-level goals.
  • Interpret and model company policies and procedures, and ensure consistent adherence across teams.
  • Collaborate weekly with manufacturing and installation teams to assess capacity planning, accurately report manning needs by project, procure resources, and adjust labor as needed based on backlog.
  • Exhibit strong organizational and analytical skills, with the ability to maintain focus on day-to-day objectives while driving toward long-term strategic goals.
  • Present goals clearly and motivate teams to achieve high performance.

  • Experience in industrial automation is required; familiarity with Fori’s product portfolio is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Proven experience negotiating and closing projects.
  • Proven experience in understanding commercial agreements, scope of work and buy-off requirements and executing projects in compliance with those terms.

Required Experience

  • Minimum of 15 years of experience in project management.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Project, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Knowledge of welding processes, layouts, equipment, tooling, process design, and material handling systems.
  • Knowledge of automation systems, including layouts, equipment, tooling, and process design.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in robotic systems.
